Lecture 3: The Wave Function

چکیده

In classical mechanics, the configuration or state of a system is given by a point (x, p) in the space of coordinates and momenta. This specifies everything else in the system in a fully deterministic way, in that any observable Y that can be expressed as Y (x, p) can be found, and any that cannot is irrelevant. Yet, as we have seen with the diffraction of electrons, it is impossible to know both the position and momentum of the electron exactly at every point along the trajectory. This is mathematically expressed as the famous position-momentum uncertainty principle: ΔxΔp ≥ . (0.1) 2

Electronic Transmission Wave Function of Disordered Graphene by Direct Method and Green's Function Method

We describe how to obtain electronic transport properties of disordered graphene, including the tight binding model and nearest neighbor hopping. We present a new method for computing, electronic transport wave function and Greens function of the disordered Graphene. In this method, based on the small rectangular approximation, break up the potential barriers in to small parts. Then using the f...

ترکش گلوئون به چارمونیوم برداری J/psi با در نظر گرفتن اثر تابع موج مزون

Studying the production or decay processes of heavy quarkonia (the bound state of heavy quark-antiquark) is a powerful tool to test our understanding of strong interaction dynamics and QCD theory. Fragmentation is the dominant production mechanism for heavy quarkonia with large transverse momentum. The fragmentation refers to the production process of a parton with high transverse momentum whic...

Inquisitive Analysis of the Point Source Effect on Propagation of SH Wave Through an Orthotropic Crustal Layer

The occurrence of SH wave propagation under the effect of a point source in an orthotropic substratum lying over a heterogeneous orthotropic half space is deliberated in the prospect of a devastating earthquake. The quadratic alteration is acknowledged for density and shear modulus which is hypothesized to be a function of depth. The method of Green's function and transformation technique contr...

Neural field modelling

The tools of dynamical systems theory are having an increasing impact on our understanding of patterns of neural activity. In these five lectures I will describe how to build tractable tissue level models that maintain a strong link with biophysical reality. These models typically take the form of nonlinear integro-differential equations. Their non-local nature has led to the development of a s...

⎩ xp ∈ R

In the previous lecture we saw that there always exists a Nash equilibrium in two-player zero-sum games. Moreover, the equilibrium enjoys several attractive properties such as polynomial-time tractability, convexity of the equilibrium set, and uniqueness of players’ payoffs in all equilibria. In this lecture we explore whether we can generalize this theorem to multi-player zero-sum games. Befor...

Lecture notes: Schroedinger wave equation simulations in 1+1 dimensions

In quantum lattice gas simulations, the quantum wave function (whether for a single quantum particle or a many-body system of quantum particles) is resolved on a grid (typically a Bravais lattice). The finite grid size of the lattice provides an ultraviolet cut-off to the modeled quantum field theory, stabilizing the particle dynamics by removing modes with high energies and momenta. Very short...
